This will be our third trip to this magnificent city and we never tire of it. The success of our 2008 conference left many who joined us eager to explore the city further and we know that the chance to visit this Holy City has been an aspiration for many others. There is nothing more special than Jerusalem; the centre of the spiritual world. Whether Jewish, Christian or Muslim, each of us will have the opportunity of sharing our beliefs and values in this wonderful, emotional and historic setting.

Jerusalem – a city of immense antiquity that forms the cornerstone of the Bible. As you walk through its atmospheric streets you are treading the path of David, Saul and Solomon, of the prophets of the bible and of the centre of the monotheist faiths. From the ancient city of the Jews and site of Solomon’s temple meander a few hundred yards to the Via Dolorosa and tread the very steps of Jesus as he walked through the city heading for his crucifixion, a spot marked by the eclectic and multi sectored Church of the Holy Sepulchre. A second monotheist religion born within the city wall.

As you look up over the city the sky line is dominated by the golden topped Dome of the Rock, a shrine of intense beauty built over the site where Mohammed ascended to heaven, the same rock where Abraham was commanded to sacrifice his son Isaac. With that ascent a third religion takes Jerusalem into its very heart.

Step out of the Old City and enjoy the breathtaking panoramas of the city from the Mount of Olives, its parks and forests. See the world famous Dead Sea Scrolls and the spectacular archaeology of the city’s museums. Then there are the wonderful restaurants, concerts and cultural activities in a city that is western in infrastructure and comfort.

It is impossible to describe the magnificence of this rose city carved out of the warm sandstone rocks of the desert hidden in natural clefts. A great Nabatean staging post on the Spice Route, its wealth allowed it to ascend to troglodyte wonder as whole rock faces were transformed into masterworks of beauty. Situated overlooking the walls of the Old City in the heart of Jerusalem with spacious gardens and grounds this hotel has hosted world leaders and celebrities and is an icon in itself. Our stay in Petra will be at the magnificent Taybet Zaman, an ancient Jordanian village converted into an hotel with wonderful rooms, its own souk and Turkish baths.
