Rome & Florence
Rome 7th-10th April 2010Florence 11th-14th April 2010Combination 7th-14th April 2010, extra night in Rome
The classical Italian splendour of these two cities provides a feast of art, music, history and architecture. No matter how many times one has visited these magnificent cities there are always new things to discover.
Take the option of 3 nights in either Rome or Florence or the combination of the two for 7 nights allowing you an extra night in Rome. However if you would like to spend some extra days in either place just let us know and we can arrange this for you.
Should you choose to do both of these wonderful cities the connection between the two will be made by train on the Sunday 11th and the flights will be from Heathrow on British Airways.
The academic programme in both cities will be of the highest standard and lectures timed so that we have plenty of time to explore what these magnificent cities have to offer. An optional tour programme and dinner programme will be offered along with excellent English speaking guides. If we are lucky enough to coincide with musical events during our stay then we shall endeavour to arrange this as well.

The Hotel Quirinale is located in the popular "Via Nazionale" district - one of the finest shopping areas in Rome. The hotel is located between the Trevi Fountain, the Piazza Republica and the Piazza Venezia. It is the perfect base for us to visit Rome's attractions. The Quirinale has a private garden area which separates the hotel from the Rome Opera House. The moment you leave the hotel you are in the centre of activity.
In Florence the Grand Hotel Minerva is in the oasis of the Piazza Santa Maria Novella in the heart of historical Florence and within easy walking distance of the Duomo, Piazza della Signoria and the Ponte Vecchio. One of the oldest and most prestigious hotels that dates back to the Middle Ages. It is part of the Historical Site of Italy and contains a statue by the famous maestro Emilio Greco.

Stroll out of our hotel and you are immediately transported into the middle of Florence past & present with numerous superb buildings and monuments together with art and sculpture in abundance intermingled with fabulous shops and cafes. People watching in Italy is a wonderful pastime as the stylish Italians scurry around their daily business. Stop off for an espresso or a delicious ice cream whilst wandering around looking at the beauty that surrounds you.
